Atlanta's Illegitimate Burlesque
Usher in Valentine’s Day with Dickie and Sadie at the Syrens of the South’s Vroom Vroom Valentine show. It’s Saturday, February 13th at Little Tree Studios in Avondale Estates. To make your life even easier, there are TWO shows: 7 and 10 PM. It’s $15 at the door.
If you’ve never been to one of their shows at Little Tree, it’s the block behind the Avondale Waffle House and Alcove Gallery.
This month’s Silver Scream Spook Show is on Saturday, February 27th with the totally classic It Conquered The World. Here’s the plot:
One of several remaining members of its race, an alien from Venus is guided to Earth by disgruntled scientist Tom Anderson, who tells it which humans it should attach mind control devices to. Among them is his old friend, fellow scientist Paul Nelson. Nelson, after killing a flying bat-thing which carries the device, finally persuades the paranoid Anderson that he’s been wrong to ally himself with an alien bent on world domination. They hurriedly leave when they discover Tom’s wife has picked up a rifle and gone to the alien’s cave to try to kill it.
As always, kids under 12 are free for the 1PM day show – everyone else is $7. The 10PM show is $10. Come out and support Atlanta’s historic Plaza Theatre!
